Over recent years, the IP strategy has seen considerable refinements; IP also continues to have greater impacts and appreciation across the business. Consequently, there is an opportunity for an experienced IP Paralegal to join the team. This is a chance to:

• Put out high-quality work to support the efforts of the IP team as a whole. Your endeavours will contribute to the maintenance and optimisation of the ARLANXEO patent portfolio, and facilitate future innovations.
• Become part of a small but agile, highly professional inhouse team, in which you will have the opportunity to support the direction of a leading multinational enterprise.

The Person

• An independent worker, who is responsible, self-motivated, solution-oriented, and a team player.
• At least 3 years of experience in a patent attorney assistant role.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office applications.
• Although not essential, previous knowledge of IP/data processing software such as IP Now, Memotech, Unycom, Patorg, etc. is particularly advantageous.
• Previous experience working on digital migrations or digitisation projects is also highly desirable.  

The Role

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• The formal processing of patents;
• Filing patent applications and documents with the European Patent Office and WIPO;
• IP process-specific correspondence, in both German and English;
• Organisation and preparation of patent and trademark committees, and portfolio review  meetings;
• Correspondence on inventor law by arrangement;
• Invoice processing;
• And administration tasks.
